Portfolio of 49 sheets of facsimiles of hand-painted images and hand-calligraphed text, and one original watercolor, featuring works by Maurizio Cattelan.

Maurizio Cattelan unveils a sequel to his initial publication with Three Star Books. Titled "Three Qattelan," this book serves as a continuation of his ongoing autobiographic series, following the narrative established in "Die / Die more / Die better / Die again" (2007). Taking full control over the editing and design, Cattelan has carefully crafted the entire volume, enlisting his long-time collaborator, Francesco Bonami, as the interpreter for this project.
Spanning forty-nine pages, the manuscript features handwritten text and illustrations, meticulously printed using offset techniques on the finest Swedish paper. Cattelan's intention with this book is to explore the original essence of transforming books into artworks. By incorporating illustrations and distancing itself from calligraphy, the book moves away from the realm of objective documentary photography and its claims of truth. Instead, the inclusion of forty-nine plates, painstakingly painted by a Chinese illustrator, offers original pictures rather than mere reproductions.
The printing process of this book adheres to superior standards set by Fälth & Hässler, renowned Swedish printers located in the region associated with Munken paper. Each plate has been printed on one side only, faithfully replicating the artist's original design. Through his autobiography, Cattelan demonstrates his mastery in manipulating economic, critical, and public media attention on an extraordinary scale. From exerting influence over vast audiences to the precise placement of pictures and punctuation on the printed page, he exhibits his remarkable control over various aspects of his artistic expression.
