Meticulous Design by Three Star Books Sets the Stage for the Exhibition
The exhibition, initiated by BOOK SOCIETY, Seoul and curated by Christophe Boutin and Melanie Scarciglia from Three Star Books, Paris, in collaboration with Lim Kyung Yong from Mediabus and Book Society, is a collaborative effort that brings together their collective expertise and vision. The title and logo of the show, as well as the scenography, were meticulously designed in Paris by Three Star Books.
Artist’s Books: an Artistic Medium in Its Own Right
The varied range of artistic concepts and approaches showcased in this event truly highlights the vast and diverse nature of the medium of artist's books. From unconventional materials to innovative techniques, the exhibition underscores the limitless possibilities and creative expressions that artists explore within the realm of bookmaking.
Books as Artworks on Unique Table Designs
In a deliberate effort to emphasize the artistic value of each book project, Three Star Books have specially designed tables that have been crafted to showcase them as unique works of art. Each participant in the show has been assigned a distinct color, which serves as a visual identifier to distinguish their individual projects.
Beyond the Pages: Wall artworks
The gallery space is further enhanced by the inclusion of wall artworks that directly relate to the book projects being exhibited. By connecting the visual elements of the books with corresponding wall artworks, the exhibition offers a multi-dimensional encounter for visitors, allowing them to explore further into the artistic concepts and themes developed by the artists.
Three Star Books wishes to thank Elise de Ducla and Marie Regaudie de Gioux for their help in designing the exhibition’s logo and Minji Koo and her team @ OKNP gallery for her dedication to this project. Installation photos by Eunchong Wi.
