These unique prints were created for the book GEMS, published by Three Star Books in early 2024. Each print captures one of forty original plastic compositions, documented using a scanner as a photographic lens. This process records every subtle detail of the shapes, while the flat nature of the scanned images compresses the sculpted plastic's three-dimensionality into a two-dimensional representation.
The titles of the prints are inspired by Sol LeWitt’s renowned piece "From Monteluco to Spoleto." Instead of using photographs to document a physical journey as LeWitt did, Cicoria draws from personal landmarks on his daily commute in Roma Nord. The names of the prints reference street names, favorite cafés, pastry shops, restaurants, and other meaningful stops along his route from home to the studio, weaving a narrative of his everyday surroundings into the artwork.
